MARK
ISHAM
Isham’s trumpet leads the audience
through this mesmerizing story with
a 100-piece English orchestra, recorded
at London’s famous Abbey Road
Studios. The tantalizingly lush, moody
score truly becomes a character of
its own for this romantically provocative
film.
One of the great film composers of
today, but in the jazz tradition that
almost got lost after Alex North,
MARK ISHAM’S career spans two
decades. Film composing for Mark began
in 1983 with Walt Disney’s critically
acclaimed film Never Cry Wolf. From
that beginning Mark has gone on to
score many award winning films, including
the 2005 Academy Award winner for
Best Picture Crash.
Other notable films include The Cooler,
Life As A House, A River Runs Through
It, Miracle, Point Break, Reversal
Of Fortune, Blade, Nell, October Sky,
Fly Away Home, and Of Mice And Men.
Isham is also a well known trumpet
player as well as jazz musician, solo
instrumentalist and rock guest artist
with such high-profile bands as the
Rolling Stones. He is in constant
demand as a trumpeter and has appeared
as a guest musician on the last two
Joni Mitchell albums and several Van
Morrison records. |
