• The
Royal Irish Regiment was created
in 1992 with the merger of The Royal
Irish Rangers and The Ulster Defence
Regiment.
• The band was formed a year later
and when uniquely combining with Bugles,
Pipes & Drums
they boasted the largest regimental
musical ensemble in the British Army
before sadly disbanding in October
2007.
• Cry Of The Celts features a
selection from Ronan Hardiman’s
stunning musical score from Michael
Flatley’s
Lord Of The Dance extravaganza.
• Also includes a rousing tribute
to trumpeter Harry James and music
from folk offshoot The Blarney Boys
with a selection of traditional Irish
songs.
